We went to the mall last weekend and the kids loved playing with their Daddy :)

Ryan is into EVERYTHING! We had to put locks on the cabinets.

He loves playing outside too! If he is in the front yard he crawls straight for the street!! We can't take our eyes off him for a second!

Kaitlyn went to the dentist last week. She loves going! They took "pictures" of her teeth, and she was such a big girl!

Our nephew, Colin, turned 1 Jan. 14th. We went to Austin to celebrate with him!

It is so hard to believe this little guy is 1. He is the most content, laid back baby I think I have ever seen.

He didn't really know what to think of his cake at first.....

but as you can see he did enjoy it!

This little guy is such a character these days. He LOVES for you to chase him. He starts crawling really fast but ends up slipping and sliding all over the floor. He thinks it is hysterical!

He loves dumping things and making LOTS of LOUD noise!

The kid also loves to eat. Kaitlyn had one blueberry muffin on the coffee table and he attacked it! I was in another room, and I kept hearing her say, "No BUDDY, NOOOO BUDDY". But by the time I made it in there he had eaten and smashed it all.

When he is not trying to steal Kate's snacks, he is chow'n down in his chair.

A few fun facts:

Diapers-Size 4

Clothes-Shirts-18months, pants 12 months

Eats-just about everything. We have started giving him what we eat for dinner. Just smashing it or breaking it into tiny pieces. He loves carbs, pasta, bread, cookies ;)

Sleeping-Usually about 7:30pm-7:30am--So much better! We have loved getting a full nights sleep!

Naps- It really varies. Still usually takes 2 naps a day (about 2 hours each)

He loves taking a bath.

Crawling all over the place.

He loves to get into the recycling trash can in the pantry.

Loves to make loud noise.

Smiles great big at Kaitlyn first thing in the morning. (melts my heart!)

Loves going into the laundry room

Still enjoys going to Little Gym.

It is hard to imagine Ryan will be 1 next month. I get very emotional thinking about it. Sweet Boy, we love you!

Christmas with the Eaton's

Last weekend my family came to our house to celebrate Christmas. It was a quick weekend but we had lots of fun. Nana and Grandad loved playing with the kids.

The weather was perfect. We played outside a lot

Nana, Kate, and Glenn had fun with the barbie house. Kaitlyn and Glenn played so well together. Lots of fun!

Buddy discovered the car. He wanted to ride it every time we went outside.

He also loved his new toy box!

We went to Louisiana to ring in the new year! I could not find my camera while we were there though. Terry's cousins babysat the kids while a bunch of us enjoyed a nice dinner out! Here are a few picture they took.

Christmas 2011

Santa came to our house a few days early since he knew we would be flying to El Paso for Christmas. He brought Kate a BIG Barbie House. She loves it!

He brought Ryan a push car. But Ryan preferred eating the cheerios instead ;)

Terry enjoyed playing with Kate's new ball.

Tuesday we flew to El Paso and then Wednesday we packed up and went to Ruidoso, New Mexico for a few days. Terry, and my brother in laws Aaron, and Tom went skiing. They had a great time until they came home. Long story short. The car would not make it up the steep hill in the 8-10 inches of snow that fell that afternoon. So the guys had to walk in the dark, up the snowy hill, with about 10 bags of groceries. Made for a very interested evening to say the least.

Whoa... what a month this little guy has had. Ryan is pulling up and cruising on everything.

It is easier for him to get Kaitlyn's toys now ;)

He is so proud of himself! We went out and bought a gate the day after he discovered the stairs!

Much happier now that he can cruise around.

He is ALL over the place. Playing with the door stop is one of his favorite past times.

And he loves knocking all of Kaitlyn's letters off the fridge.

10 month fun facts:

*Eats just about whatever we give him as long it is smashed or in tiny pieces.

*Would rather self feed than eat baby food from a jar.

*Sleeps 10-12 hours straight (only in his own bed)

*2 naps 1-2 hours each.

*Size 12-18 months clothes

*Crawls everywhere, but still would rather walk.

*Laughs at everything Kaitlyn does.

He is growing so fast. It amazes us how mobile he has become. And so quick too! He is such a sweetheart! We just love that little guy.

'Tis the Season

We have been enjoying this Christmas season. I just LOVE this time of year.

We started off picking out our Christmas tree. Kate loved running through all the trees.

Ryan at the tree farm. This was not the tree we picked though.

At home decorating the tree. Kaitlyn put all the little red hearts on.

We went to the Galleria to see the huge Christmas tree. Ryan just wanted to eat the plant.

It is beautiful!

Buddy is all over the place now!

We saw Santa at our neighborhood Christmas Party. Kaitlyn was so excited to see Santa. Ryan didn't mind sitting there, he just wanted Kate's sucker.

Kaitlyn had her School Christmas Program. I will try to upload a video soon.

They were so cute.

And I did my first half marathon (13.1 miles) with my friend Kendra. It was so much fun and I can't wait to do another one!

Playgroup Christmas Party

Today was our neighborhood playgroup Christmas Party. My sweet friend Michelle hosted and I have to say with 19 kids it was a lot of fun...crazy but fun!

"Elf Callie"

We started the Elf on the Shelf this year. Kaitlyn LOVES it! The elf appeared on the mantel one afternoon.We read the book and learned that you must be on your best behavior because the elf is always watching. After you go to sleep the elf will fly to the North Pole and tell Santa all of your good/naughty deeds. Kaitlyn is eating it up! If she starts wining or complaining I just give her a little look and she glances over at the elf and then straightens up. It is awesome! This morning Elf Callie was playing HiHo Cherry-O with Violet. Silly Elf ;)

Kaitlyn was so excited to start decorating! We still have to get the tree and put the lights up outside. We will do that as soon as Terry gets back from Alabama. As I was putting up our Santas from Asia I started thinking about the Christmas we spent in Thailand. What an amazing experience we had :)

a wonderful Thanksgiving day!

Our neighbor from Sonora, Ms. Mattie, joined us for lunch Thursday. She always spends either Christmas or Thanksgiving with us and we love having her there! Her 90th birthday is in about a week so we sang Happy Birthday. We just love Ms. Mattie!

It was also Ryan's first thanksgiving! He had a really rough day though, he cut is first tooth! We tried all kinds of things to make him feel better, like riding around in a basket.

Friday night Thea, my mom, and I decided to do a little Black Friday shopping. We were at Wal-Mart with all the other crazy people.

the innocence of a child.

Kaitlyn has been making a "thankful tree". Everyday she tells me something she is thankful for, I write it on a leaf, and she tapes it to the pantry door. She loves doing it and we love hearing the things she is thankful for. Besides family and friends (that each have a leaf) she had a few other things she was thankful for:

gumballs, stickers, playground, tent, colors, letters, cookies, M&Ms, baby dolls, baby doll stroller, princess cup

I have been very busy the past few days getting ready to leave for Thanksgiving. After the kids were bathed and dinner was done I decided to get a little pedi. Since it was after 7 I had a hard time finding a place that was open but luckily I stumbled upon one in Wal-Mart. I closed my eyes and tried to ignore the mother (who was wearing her pj's) yelling at her kids, the 2 drunk college guys, and the loud intercom. I just closed my eyes and pretended I was on a beach in Thailand. I have to say it was a blissful 45 minutes and then I walked back into the wal-mart chaos.

We miss Mawmaw's good cajun cook'n. The closest thing we can get is from Hebert's in Houston. We stocked up on meat pies, gumbo, etouffee, stuffed chicken, and sausage. Yummy!

Our pediatrician, Dr. Gonzalez.

Dr. G has been so great with our kids. We seem to visit him just about every month. He is so patient with them and always answers our questions. Today, we took Ryan in for his 9 month check up and Kaitlyn in since she wasn't feeling well. Turns out she has strep throat. Kaitlyn hates the strep test (swab the back of your throat). Dr. Gonzalez told her if she let him do it he would give her a cupcake! Seriously, how many dr's do you know that would give your kid a HUGE cupcake just because he feels bad for having to do the test. He is so sweet.

Ryan had a good 9 month check up. He is growing and is healthy.

Ryan's 9 month's stats:

*Weighs 22.7lbs (75 percentile)

*Length?? Don't remember but it was in the 95th percentile

*2 naps a day

*sleeps about 10 hrs at night

*3-4 bottles (6-8oz)

*Loves cheerios and puffs

Terry made it home from French Guiana. (South America)

He has been away for about 10 days. He came home just in time, I needed some back up with the kiddos. Kaitlyn was beyond excited to see him. Terry was home less than 5 minutes and Kaitlyn had already set up Hi Ho Cherry-O and was ready to play. Not long after that they were outside on the swing, only for a bit since it was a little chilly.

Kate is so happy Daddy is home.

Ryan was excited to see Daddy too. He was sitting in his lap watching sports and eating cheerios. I think he was getting tired of all the princess movies.

Today Ryan is 9 Months old. So hard to believe. He has his check up tomorrow so I will give all his stats then.

a little sunshine.

Kaitlyn and Ryan were both sick today (again!). Kaitlyn was running fever but had no other symptoms. Ryan had a runny nose and a cough. We were cooped up all day but around 4:30 I decided we needed to go outside for some fresh air. The sun was shining and there was a little breeze. Kaitlyn rode her bike and Ryan walked in his walker. We all had big smiles for the first time all day!

I am so thankful for the little sunshine we had today! It was much needed.

There was a wreck on I-10 today and I was stuck in traffic for about an hour and a half. At that time, I realized I am so thankful for my car. I am glad it had a working air-conditioner because I was hot. I am glad it had a tv that kept Kaitlyn entertained while we were stopped. I am also glad it had a radio that kept me entertained after she fell asleep. I was not happy to be stuck in traffic, but I am very thankful for my car.

I'm glad our family and friends can see pictures of our kids growing up, but it is also my scrapbook. I love that I can go back two years ago and see how little Kaitlyn was and what she was doing. Katilyn loves to go back in time and see her baby pictures too. I also love that I have friends and family who do it as well. I enjoy keeping up with them and I usually can get a good laugh too.

Drive thru windows.

I know this may sounds silly, but since I am flying solo while Terry is gone, I am loving drive thru windows. I am not going to cook every night for just me and the kids. Seeing that Ryan's meals come from a little jar and Kate eats like a bird, I'm not going to waste my time cooking just for me. I definitely have eaten my fair share of pb&j, cereal, and grilled cheese, but I have also gone through chick-fil-a's drive thru a time or two. It is a lot easier just to pull up, order, and eat it at home when I am by myself. Not to mention our favorite cupcake place is right next door, and it has a drive thru too :)

our neighborhood playgroup.

Kaitlyn loves all these kids and I love the moms too! We meet every Friday morning so the kids can play and we can chat.We have a good group of about 10 kids.

The moms decided to start having a ladies night out once a month. This month we went to Pinot's Palette. Basically, you bring a bottle of wine and you paint a picture. It was so fun!

the Katy YMCA.

I love going to our local Y. The classes are awesome. My favorite is Body Attack and Body Pump. If I can't make it to one of those I enjoy running on the treadmill and watching Dr. Oz. HA!

They also have the best childcare staff! There are 4 different classrooms so the big kids aren't with the babies. They are so sweet with Ryan. It's nice to get a little workout in and not have to worry about the kids.

Terry's job.

He has worked for Ensco for about 8 years. Even though it is a little tough when he has to go off shore or travels over seas, I am so greatful he has a stable job. So many people are having a hard time in this economy so I feel very fortunate. We have lived in 5 cities in the 7 years we have been married. Ensco has transfered us about every 12-18 months. However, October made 18 months that we have been back in the states, and we have no plans of moving anytime soon :) Terry is a very hardworker and I am so grateful I get to stay home with the kids.

I thank God everyday that we are all healthy. Yes, our kids seem to get ear infections and colds every other week but I'm just glad that's all it is. Just a quick trip to the dr's office and they are better.

Sweet Sophia

I became an aunt for the first time on June 21, 2008 to Sophia. This little girl is so sweet and beautiful! Her long brown hair and big brown eyes are gorgeous. She has such a fun little personality too. Kaitlyn and Sophia have so much fun together and she is definitely one of her best friends. We love you Sophia!

My first nephew was born May 4, 2010. This little guy is such a cutie with his blonde hair and BIG blue eyes. Glenn is the sweetiest thing, he loves to give kisses, and I can take them all day long :) Kaitlyn loves playing with Glenn. They are at the perfect age where they can interact and laugh together. It is so much fun watching them. I know Ryan will have a blast playing with Glenn too when he gets a bit bigger! We love you Glenn!

Our second nephew and godson was born January 14, 2011. I have to say Colin is the best baby. He is so layed back and calm. It is amazing! He has those same gorgeous big brown eyes as his sister. I could just love on this little guy all day. It will be so fun watching Colin and Ryan grow up together since they are only 5 weeks apart. We love you Colin!

All of our family.

After living half way around the world from our family we learned we really need to treasure each visit we have with them. It was hard not being able to talk or see them as often as we wanted. Life is too short not to make time for our family. I know I have said this before on the blog but it is exactly how I feel.
Our parents are wonderful! They adore all of their grandkids and are always looking for an excuse for us to come visit or for them to come here. And you know what? I wouldn't have it any other way!
We are close to all of our siblings too. We love getting together with them or chatting on the phone. Kaitlyn and Ryan are so lucky to have such great aunts and uncles! Terry's grandparents, in Louisiana, also have a very special place in my heart. They have treated me like part of the family from the moment I met them. Both Terry and I have aunts, uncles, and cousins that we love so much. We are so blessed to have been born into such wonderful and accepting families!

My kids.

My world changed 3 and half years ago when I became a mother for the first time. When Kaitlyn was born I felt like I was on cloud 9, life was perfect. She is an absolute joy to us. She is a beautiful, strong, little girl, inside and out.

My heart was stolen again when Ryan was born just 8 short months ago. Although he is little, he is getting his own personality. Ryan is a happy baby who you can get to smile and laugh on a dime.

Terry and I talk all the time about how different they are. Kaitlyn can be so serious and has to survey the situation. She is not going to jump into anything right away. I love that she is so cautious!

Ryan, on the other hand, I really think was just born smiling. I think he is going to have no fear. Is that just a boy thing?

We LOVE both these kids more than I could have imagined.

Terry.

Honestly, I think I won the lottery when it comes to husbands. I know I sometimes take him for granted. He does so much to make my life a little easier and happier! I wanted to list 10 things I love about Terry but had a hard time narrowing it down.

10 reasons I love my husband
(in no particular order)

1. Honest
He is the most honest I person I know.

2.Quotes Dumb and Dumber
He can probably recite the entire movie and it cracks me up.

3. Awesome Father
The kids absolutely adore him

4. Listens to me
moan and complain or tell random stories, unless it is during an LSU game ;)

5. Hottie
With those blue eyes and dark hair, definitely a looker.

6.Grill Master
His steaks are out of this world

7.Provider
He works so hard so I can stay at home with the kiddos

8. loves bratwurst
He doesn't require a 4 course meal for dinner, I can just serve a fancy hotdog and he is happy.

9. Organized
You should see the junk drawer in the kitchen and his garage. Everything has a special place.

10. Kisses
I love that he gives me a kiss each morning before he leaves for work and as soon as he gets home

This is just a short list, I really could go on and on. I feel like the luckiest gal in the world.

I decided for each day in November I would write about what I am thankful for. Day 1...

I am thankful for God

I know that I am not perfect and I sin daily, but I am thankful that I have a God who is so forgiving. I know one day I will be in a place that is unbelievably beautiful and wonderful. I will get to sing and dance with my grandparents. Oh how fun that will be! God has blessed me in so many ways; my family, my friends, my country, and so much more.

We found a church several months after we moved to Katy, St. Peter's Methodist. I truly love this church. I grew up Baptist, Terry grew up Lutheran, and after visiting lots of churches we joined the Methodist church. I honestly do not think it matters what church you go to, as long as you believe that Jesus died on the cross for you and me. I remembered being worried that both of our parents were going to be upset that we didn't go to a Baptist Church or a Lutheran Church, but both told us "we don't care where you go, we are just so happy you are going." St. Peter's Church has a great children's program. Kaitlyn LOVES it! The nursery workers are great with Ryan and the pastor is amazing. I am so thankful we found this church.

We went to Austin last weekend, Kaitlyn was missing her cousins.

Kaitlyn started running fever on the way home from Austin. Monday she still was not feeling well so I took her to the dr and she has an ear infection. She has been looking forward to trick or treating for weeks. After she took 2 naps we let her go to a few houses. She loved it.

We had a fun weekend in Austin!

YMCA Trunk or Treat

Friday night we went to the Katy YMCA for a fall festival. Kaitlyn had a lot of fun with her besties!

Katy Rice Festival

We took the kids to the Katy Rice Festival. Kaitlyn had so much fun and did not want to leave!

"My Big Playground"

A couple of weeks ago, we decided to get a wooden playset for the kids.

It came with lots of wood, nails, and screws.

After several days of work we have what Kaitlyn calls "My big playground"!

Daddy Day and Other Stuff

Last Thursday, Kaitlyn's Preschool had "Daddy's Day". Terry was told to wear his favorite team's shirt, and since his LSU shirt was tossed in the trash because of too many holes, he wore the next best thing, Saints. And just for the record I did not throw it away. HE did!

They had a great time after they finally found her classroom. Neither Kaitlyn or Terry could remember her teacher's name or the animal her class represented. She told them giraffe, but they are Zebras. HA!

They had ice cream, made crafts, and played outside.

They made this necktie together. Notice how all the balls are in a straight line and all together. She does this with everything! Very organized.

The other day she was playing outside and thought it was funny driving around with Dora on the roof of her car.

This little guy loves sitting up outside. So content. He is feeling much better.

Kacci, one of my best friends from highschool, came in last weekend for her niece's birthday. They stayed at our house one night and the kids had so much fun playing. They convinced Terry to get in the tent with them! HA!

Even though he has 101.8 fever, runny nose, and a horrible cough he still gives you the biggest smile! I have to say there have been a lot of tears the last couple of days too. I took him to the Dr. today and found out this little guy has an ear infection and a cold. He is on an antibiotic so hopefully it will clear up quickly. He has been getting lots of rest and snuggle time with Mommy and Daddy.

It was packed full of fun and friends!

Ryan had 2 good naps a day, fun at the YMCA and Little gym

We also squeezed in college football, an adult night out with friends, a BBQ with an old co-worker, and church. When you throw in work, housework, yardwork and a few workouts at the gym, it makes for a very busy week.

Time is just flying by with this little man. I can't believe how smiley he is. I love it!

He can sit up by himself for a little bit before he topples over.

He still loves to roll under the coffee table.

Little Gym

We went to Ryan's 1st Little Gym class today. The first 25 minutes were great! He enjoyed the songs and ~~shaking~~ eating the rattles. We did tummy time, practiced crawling, and jumped on the blow-up thing. Lots of fun singing and bubbles too. But about half way through the class he was done. Ryan was so tired and had the hiccups. I think he was in shock having to be active for 45 minutes straight. To be honest this Momma was exhausted too. Jumping, lifting, and rolling this 20 lb baby was quite tiring. It was lots of fun though! I'm sure we will both get into better shape and enjoy it a little a more ;)

Last weekend we took a trip to El Paso to visit Terry's parents. Aaron flew in from Phoenix too!

Ryan 6 month check-up

Ryan had his 6 month dr. visit. We were about 3 weeks late with it.

The dr said he he is growing and doing great!

He has learned to roll over both ways! He is somewhat mobile now.

During the LSU game he kept rolling under the coffee table. It was really funny!

Here are a few of his stats:

Weighs: 19lb 13.5oz (78%)

Height: 29 in (98%)

He sleeps at least 12 hours waking once to eat.

He eats about 2 small jars of baby food at each meal (lunch/dinner)

Oatmeal cereal for breakfast.

Bottles -about 4-5(6oz)

He can sit by himself for a few seconds before falling over.

Swimming, Ballet, and School

Kate has been super busy the last couple of weeks. We finished up her 2 week swimming lessons. She did so good. This is a video of her floating on her back the last day. You can see that Mr. Collin lets her go and she is doing it by herself. She also picked up a ring at the bottom of the pool, 4ft! We are so proud of her.

We started Ballet last week too. She LOVES it!

Swimming Lessons

We are back at swimming lessons again. Back in May we started this intense 2 week class, but after 5 days Kate came down with strep throat so we had to quit. We decided to go ahead and try it again. It is 30 minutes every day for 10 days. There are only 4 kids in her class. It is an indoor pool and the parents stay behind the glass window. We can see them but they can't see us. These pictures are with my cell phone so they are not very clear. At the end of the 2 weeks we are allowed to go on the deck and I will video tape her.

She is floating on her back while the instructor, Mr. Collin, holds her head. She calls him "Baby Colin" because that is what we call our nephew. HA! When she first started she was crying and did not want to put her ears in the water. She is much more relaxed just after 4 days!

More back floating. These instructors are so patient!

They also put a barbell under each arm and kick. She loves this, because she does not have to put her face in the water! HA!

While the kids are waiting their turns the instructor gives them a toy. I think this is Kate's favorite thing at swim lessons, playing with Dora.

I really can't believe the progress she has already made. I can't wait to see what she is doing at the end of next week.

When Ryan woke up from his nap Kaitlyn wanted to hold him in the rocking chair. I thought this would be a good time to take a couple of pictures. This was the best one. I thought I would share a few others too!

6 months

Ryan is half of a year old! He is such a joy. I just can't get over how smiley and happy he is. Don't get me wrong he still can scream and pitch a fit when he is hungry or sleepy, but for the most part he is a happy baby.

Yes, I know he is on a pink blanket. Kaitlyn loves to spread out her blanket in the living room for Ryan and all of her other babies.

Fun 6 month Facts:

*Wears mostly 9 months clothes

*Takes a 2 hour morning nap (if we are home) but usually just cat naps while we are running errands

*Takes a 2 hour afternoon nap

*Nighttime sleep varies from week to week. But he usually sleeps about 12 hours waking up one or two times for a bottle. Very random though.

*Laughs when you tickle under his neck

This was from Tropical storm Don. We didn't get much rain but Kate loved playing in it.

Ryan sat in the cart for the first time at Target. Everyone was happy for about 10 minutes. Then it went down hill from there.

I let Kate play with shaving cream on the table. She loved it!

She also helped Daddy mow the lawn.

The first time the kids took a bath together. We put Ryan in his bumbo and he loved it!

The 3 Amigos

These three little girls are together just about everyday. We go to the YMCA, neighborhood play dates, and family outings together. Brooke and Peyton are twins and their birthday is just 1 day after Kaitlyn's. They might as well be triplets. HA! They play so well together.

Last Sunday we took the girls to the Barnum and Bailey Circus. They did pretty good the first 45 minutes but a 3 year olds attention span is just not very long. Their favorite part was the clowns and the elephants.

This is our new double stroller. We love it!

I know Kaitlyn is a little big for strollers, but there have been several times that she is tired of walking and she begs to be in the stroller with Ryan.

While we were at HEB yesterday I walked through the school supply aisle. I picked Kaitlyn up a pair of toddler scissors. She loved them! Who would have thought she would have so much fun with a pair of scissors and 1 pink piece of construction paper.

We also had to have a lesson on cleaning up ALL the tiny pieces!

Ryan is 5 months old today!

He is still a very smiley baby!

*During the first half of the month he was NOT sleeping very well at night, waking up many times during the night.

*We started Sleep Bootcamp July 4th. We let him cry it out. The first night he cried for a little over an hour. We went in to check on him several times but did not pick him up. Eventually he went to sleep. Each night was better. After the 4th night he was basically sleeping through the night. He now goes to bed around 8pm and sleeps till around 5. I feed him and then goes back to sleep for another 2-3 hours. So, Sleep bootcamp worked for Ryan.

*His naps during the day still vary. Unfortnunetly we are not on a daytime schedule. He seems to deal with it pretty well though.

*He still wears a size 2 diaper. We are fixing to move up to 3 but are trying to finish out the box first

*Wears 9 months clothes

*Eats oatmeal, pears, peaches

Ryan is such a fun little baby. It is so fun to make him smile and laugh! We just love him so much!

Kaitlyn's 3yr check up

Kaitlyn had her 3 year check up a couple of weeks ago. We had a good report. She did have to get one shot because we were behind on her Hep. A. They didn't give it to her in Singapore.

Kaitlyn is such a sweet loving little girl! She loves her baby.

She named this baby Family. I have know idea why. I tried to get her to change it to something like Sarah. But she said "No, her name is Family".

Kaitlyn loves her brother! He is always getting kisses!

She has learned that the water gun is used for squirting people. For the longest time she thought it was to clean the glass on the backdoor. I wasn't going to tell her any different! I also learned that she was very sheltered when I asked her what it was and she told me a "trumpet".

Kate could eat queso every day if I would let her.

She would rather go to Home Depot with Daddy than Target with me.

4th of July

After our trip to Austin I took the kids to my parents house in San Angelo. Terry had to go off shore for a few days so he met us at the end of the week. We had such a nice time. Ryan was going through a major cranky phase that started in Austin and lasted just about the entire time we were in San Angelo. His days were better but his nights were HORRIBLE. The last few nights he was waking up every 30min. to an hour. We went through sleep boot camp the night we were back home. More on that later!
Other than that we had a blast. Kaitlyn was a little water bug! We were able to see family we haven't seen in a while and just laughed and played in the lake!

Taylor and Kaitlyn were either swimming in the lake or in this little pool. I guess they forgot to put their swimsuits on and just jumped in with their clothes on!

This is Kaitlyn and Terry on the tube again. The real reason I put this picture on here is so I can show you how far Kaitlyn swam. The trees in the background are actually on a little island. I am sitting on the dock (you can see the white chair in the right hand corner). Terry, Kaitlyn, my dad, and I were all swimming next to the dock and Kaitlyn said she wanted to go to the island. We each had noodle so off we went. Kaitlyn was determined to do it by herself! And she did! She went there and back. She loved it! I have a feeling she will be doing this every time we go to the lake now.

And of course here is my sweet baby! Doesn't he look a little cranky in this picture ! HA! I have to say it was a rough few days, but he is doing much better now!

On June 21st Sophia (our niece) turned 3.

We went to Austin to celebrate!

Baby Colin slept the entire party!

There was a pinata. All the kids pulled a string and then the goodies fell out!

Kate's favorite part was the icing on the cake.

We gave Sophia roller skates.

Baby Ryan was at the party too. He was sporting his new cowboy boots :) Ryan was not having a good day so he missed most of the party too!

4 Months (June 17)

June Update...

Kaitlyn had her last day of school June 2nd. She loved her teachers and friends and is still talking about them.

Last day of school

Ryan is experiencing the exersaucer for the first time. He is still a little too small for it so I put towels all around him. Kaitlyn was showing him how everything worked.

Aunt Cammie came over for dinner one weekend. Kaitlyn stayed busy playing with her. Writing with sidewalk chalk, jump roping and hula hooping :)

Daddy went swimming with Kaitlyn one HOT afternoon.

We just took a trip to Louisiana. It was our first long trip with Ryan. (5 hours)

This Week...

Terry had to go off-shore this week so we tried to stay busy.

Kaitlyn said "Daddy is at Louisiana's house!" It is hard to explain to a 3 year old Louisiana is a state not a person. HA!

We tried out her new roller skates. My brother and sister-in-law gave her these, along with all the gear! She loved it! We went up and down the sidewalk!

She had all the essential pads on, but she did fall 2 times. And both times she said "I need hiney pads!" HA!

She worked up quite a thirst too! She had to wear her new tutu skirt too! Thanks Steph! :)

We also made a trip to the dr for Ryan. Kaitlyn said her baby was sick too! She brought along her stethoscope.

Ryan you are 3 months Old

Ryan was 3 months on the 17th. He is growing and doing great!

He is a happy baby, for the most part

but still gets very cranky if he is hungry or sleepy!

He is such a sweetie though!

What is Ryan up to these days?

*Weighs about 14.5 pounds

*Wears mostly 3-6 months clothes. (3 months are a bit snug)

*Eats about every 2.5-3 hours during the day

*Sleeping much better! Only gets up once during the night to eat usually around 3 or 4 am.

*Has been sleeping in his room for the last 4 weeks.

*Naps best during the day in his carseat

*Coos and talks a lot!

*Has started smiling when Kaitlyn talks to him now too

*Only poops about once every 7-10 days. (this is our only issue, but we have been to the dr. several times. we will just keep monitoring it)

*Loves apple juice and prune juice (we only give him a little because of the bm issue)

*He is such a fun baby! I love watching Kaitlyn interact with him. The other day I caught her singing "Jesus Loves Me" to him while showing him the Bible. It was too cute! And then she said "Jesus Loves YOU!!" as she pokes him in the belly! It is never a dull moment around here, but I love it!

We are so blessed!

Graduation, Birthday Party, and a Baptism

My brother-in-law, Aaron, graduated from ASU (Arizona State not Angelo State). Terry, Ryan and I made a quick trip to Phoenix to celebrate with him! Kaitlyn was in San Angelo with Nana and Grandad having fun and being spoiled!

We flew home Friday so we could celebrate Kaitlyn's 3rd birthday. We had a party at Little Gym and most of her little playgroup friends came and of course her 3 cousins too!

Happy 3rd birthday Kaitlyn Grace!

Sunday we went to church for Ryan's baptism. It was a wild morning! Ryan cried the entire time before his baptism. I had to walk outside with him and a sweet lady came to get me when it was time to go up. The Holy Spirit must have been with Ryan, as soon as we walked up on stage, he stopped crying! I was shocked! He did so good during the baptism, but as soon as it was over he started crying again.

We had a great weekend celebrating Glenn's 1st birthday. He is such a sweet little boy and I know Kaitlyn and Ryan are going to have so much fun growing up with him!

Hard to believe our baby girl is 3! We gave her a kids trampoline for her big day and she LOVES it!

She tucks her knees and jumps. I think we are going to have to find a way to bolt it to the floor! HA!

She is into tunnels right now. So she was crawling under it!

We gave her a choclate cupcake and sang "Happy Birthday"!

All day she was saying "It's my Birthday!"

What a Big Girl!

Kaitlyn is getting quite a little personality. She is always making us laugh with the little things she says! She loves going to school and playing with her friends. But her playgroup friends are her besties! She talks about them all the time. Kaitlyn is not a great eater, though we are working on it. Her favorite snack is goldfish and m&m's. She also has to have her chocolate milk and a breakfast bar first thing in the morning.

She is a great sleeper at night but refuses to take naps. We still make her have rest time in her room for about an hour. She will not come out of her room in the morning unless we tell her to. It is the funniest thing. We have a monitor with an intercom button. So every morning we tell her "Good Morning, go potty, then come find mommy and daddy". And she does!! It is great!

Kaitlyn is such a fun and sweet little girl! We love her so much and can't wait to see what the next year has instore for her.

Terry's sister Stephanie and her family came down to visit us for Easter. Cammie joined us Saturday, but unfortunately I didn't get any pictures of her.

Kaitlyn and Sophia had so much fun too! This was really the first time they were able to carry on a conversation and understand each other. They loved sitting at the kid table too!

I have so many pictures to share, but our computer will not let me upload anything from our camera. All these are from my phone. Hopefully, we will get our computer fixed soon, but I just can't figure out how we are going to go computer shopping with these two little ones! HA!

Ryan is almost 10 weeks old! He is growing like a weed. He had his 2 month check-up and weighed 13.5 pounds (85%) and was 24 inches long (93%). He still eats 3-4 hours around the clock. Ryan had his 2 month shots while we were there. He was not happy about that! Poor little guy!

Kaitlyn had strep throat and another infection with a huge blister on the back of her throat. She would not eat anything for 2 days and complained that her throat itched (hurt). It was pitiful! But she enjoyed going to the dr. She has never had a shot by this dr in Katy, so she thinks it is fun play with all the books and gadgets in the office.

Ryan loves to look at the fan so Daddy was giving him a closer look! HA! (It was not on!)

Kate was playing with all her balls outside and thought Ryan needed one!

My 1st trip to HEB with both kids by myself. It was interesting!

Kaitlyn had her first Easter Party at school! She was so excited!

Mr. Ryan is 6 weeks old!

He is starting to smile, on purpose, a little more now.

He is very healthy, look at that double chin!

He has that very serious look just like his big sister!

We tried out his playmat but he wasn't too much of a fan. Kaitlyn on the other hand played with it for about an hour! HA!

Today, Ryan is 1 month old.

We are having so much fun with him.

And Kaitlyn adores him! She always wants to know where he is and what he is doing.

He is starting to stay awake a little more.

I took the kids for a walk to check the mail. I had to bring a bag to put the mail in since I was carrying Ryan and helping guide Kaitlyn on her tricycle.

It seemed like a lot of work just to get the mail! Ha!

Just keeping it real! Ryan is a pretty easy going baby but when he is hungry this is his look!

Notice Kaitlyn is too busy watching Dora to even notice he is crying!

A few fun facts about Ryan:

*He eats about every 2-3 hours during the day and about 3 hours during the night

*He usually goes right back to sleep after he eats at night

*He has taken a trip to the neighborhood park a couple of times

*He would much rather be in the front carrier on me than riding in the stroller

*He can somehow sleep through Kaitlyn leaning over him and saying "Baby Lion are you sleeping, hmm are you sleeping!'

*He does not like to be swaddled very much, but if we don't do it he wakes himself up with his spastic arms flaps

*He will take a binkie but usually spits it out after a couple of minutes

*He is a pretty easy going baby

And we love him very much!

Week 2

This Little Man is 2 weeks old!

We had his 2 week check up today and he is gaining weight! He gained 17 oz in 9 days!

He is always hungry! He eats every 2-3 hours during the day and 3-4 hours at night!

Aunt Cammie came to visit us and brought us a yummy dinner too!

They have been a big help around here!

Thankfully Ryan is very easy going! He is a great sleeper and I usually have to wake him up to feed him.

Kaitlyn likes being the big sister. This was first time they rode together in the car. We picked her up from school and she read Ryan a book.

Nana has been a BIG help. She sure does love her grandbabies!

Ryan decided to come 2 weeks early! I was scheduled to be induced on Feb. 22 but he decided to come a few days early! We were very excited! Everything went well and we have a healthy baby boy!

This weekend we made a quick trip to Austin. We met this handsome little guy, Colin Richard Watson. Terry's sister, Stephanie, had him Jan. 14. He is such a cute and GOOD baby!

New Playgroup

We started a new playgroup in our subdivision this week and it is so much fun! There were about ten 2 year olds so it was pretty wild and exciting! We meet a couple of times a week at different places. Kaitlyn was a little shy but she had fun too! I forgot to bring my camera so these were taken when we got home today.
