Kuala Lumpur-Part 2

I'm now going to fill you in all the rest of our trip in Kuala Lumpur.

Part 2:
Monday we set out for our city tour around 9 am. The tour consisted of us 3 and a couple from London, probably in their 70's. Our tour guide, Jackie Chan, (that really is his name) drove us around in a van. It was so like our own personal tour.
We drove around for a bit and he told us some of the history of Kuala Lumpur. Our 1st stop was at the "King's Palace". This is where the King of Malaysia stays.

Our next stop was to a Chinese Temple. It was really neat to be there and shown around on New Year's Day. Jackie Chan is Buddhist so he was able to explain a lot of the customs and traditions.

The Temple was decorated for the New Year

Kaitlyn is the year of the Rat
(Terry is the year of the Ram)
(I'm the year of the Dog)

Then we headed to the Pewter Factory. It was neat to see how it is all made and designed.

We stopped by a couple of parks and a Muslim Mosque. In front of the oldest Mosque in Kuala Lumpur we saw this banner. They are trying to boycott the US.
However we saw many Muslims at Starbucks and drinking cokes!

It was a very fascinating tour and we really enjoyed being with the couple from London.
After we were dropped off at the hotel we decided to have lunch by the pool. We had this visitor come and give Kaitlyn a red envelope with two coins in it. This is a Chinese New Year Tradition.

Kaitlyn wanted to eat the envelope.

To sum up our afternoon we lounged by the pool again, had dinner, and walked around the park by our hotel. Very relaxing afternoon.

The pool was awesome--perfect temperature

Side note: I bet 15 people asked to take Kaitlyn's picture. Here in Singapore, only a few people have asked but there are lots of Westerners here. In Kuala Lumpur there weren't as many. Most people would ask if they could have a picture taken with her but I caught a few being sneaky and just snapping shots of her. Terry decided to take a few pictures too!

This is one lady who really wanted to hold her at the Petronas Towers. Kaitlyn thought her husband was funny!
We had a great time on our 1st family vacation! It was a great experience! Check out the slide show below.
