Kualu Lumpur-Part 1

I decided to break our trip down by making 2 posts. I have so much to share and LOTS of pictures! So you may want to get a cup of coffee, sit back and relax...

Part 1:

Saturday:

First of all, let me say, we had a fantastic time visiting Malaysia! We left Singapore Saturday afternoon and boarded our 1 hour flight to Kualu Lumpur. I have to say it was really nice to have such a quick flight and be at our final destination. And we only had 1 suitcase!
We checked into our hotel which was about a 25 minute train ride and then a 15 minute taxi ride from the airport.

Before I move on let me tell you that one of my favorite things about vacations is staying in hotels. I LOVE it!

We splurged a little and stayed at a really nice one, the Mandarin Oriental. The service was absolutely amazing! We were in the Club Level...which we didn't know,but babies were not allowed. They invited us in for h'ordervs and cocktails but we were later asked not to come back because there were complaints (only from 1 lady). How rude...huh? And the crazy part, Kaitlyn was great...she was just as excited as me about staying in a hotel...so she was flapping her arms and grunting a little. There was absolutely no tears though!

Sunday...

We decided to explore the Batu Caves. We knew we wanted to do this before we left Singapore so we invested in a baby backpack for Kaitlyn.

We had to climb 272 steps to get to the entrance of the cave. The cave doubles as a Hindu Temple.

I was expecting the cave to be like the Sonora Caverns or the Carlsbad's Caverns however It was really nothing like that. It was quite small and the back part had an open top. The Hindus were caring gifts to present to their God's and then they were blessed with paint on their forehead. It was very interesting to see.
As we were making our way down the steps of the cave we saw lots of monkeys. One monkey stole a bag of bananas and ate every single one! They would run across the steps and reach for the snacks in your hand!

Next to the main cave there were 2 smaller caves filled with pictures that told parables of the Hindu Gods. We were also lucky enough to see a "Peacock Dance". Kaitlyn really liked the music!

We did not hear a peep from her the entire time we were in the caves and walking around. I think she was just trying to take everything in. She loved being in the backpack!

After exploring the caves we took a taxi back to the city and decided to lounge by the amazing pool before dinner. Kaitlyn enjoyed her swim! She splashed and kicked her feet! She loved

swimming on her tummy!

Our next stop was a walk across the sky bridge at the Petronas Towers. Terry stood in line early that morning for 45 minutes to get 3 tickets to walk across the bridge. They only allow 1,400 people to walk through a day and the tickets go quick! The twin towers are 88 stories high. (4th largest building in the world) The Sky Bridge connects the two buildings at the 41st floor. The view is amazing!

Before we went back up to our room we stopped by the front desk to get information for a tour we wanted to take...they asked us if we cared to enjoy h'ordervs and cocktails, we were confused because the day before we were asked not to come back... they told us the lady who had complained moved hotels!!! Can you believe that...The front desk staff seemed pleased she left and we were excited we could enjoy the amazing Chinese/Japanese snacks again!
